Tarkan Idol

The ‘Tarkan Idol’ is a competition organised by DEM TV. It offers Londoners the chance to win tickets to the superstar’s Wembley Arena concert on Sunday 13 April. Entrants must perform like Tarkan at one of four London venues on 28/29 March for a chance to win. All venue winners will be put through to the televised final of ‘Tarkan Idol’, to be broadcast on DEM TV’s weekly Londra Magazin programme on 6 April, with highlights shown online at ITV Local London. Viewers will be invited to vote for their favourite Tarkan entertainer and the finalist securing the most viewer votes will win a VIP prize, including tickets to Tarkan’s after-party.

Competition - Terms and Conditions

1. The competition will run from 28 – 29 March 2008 at venues and times listed below. Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control, this information may be subject to change. Please do check Absolute Events’ and DEM TV’s websites for updates.

2. Entrants must be aged 18 or over. Proof of age may be requested upon registration if applicants do not appear to be of the right age. Anyone refusing to provide valid proof of age will not be permitted to enter the competition.

3. Winners from each venue will each receive a bottle of champagne and pair of tickets to the Tarkan concert taking place at Wembley Arena on Sunday 13 April 2008. The winner of the televised final will receive a goody bag and VIP prize including top priced seats for two to the concert and entry into Tarkan’s exclusive after party in central London. The prize does not include any transport costs to or from the venue. Ticket holders shall be bound by the event promoter's terms and conditions and the rules and regulations of the venue.

4. The prize may not be transferred to any other person.

5. No cash alternative is available. However, in the event of the advertised competition prize being unavailable we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

6. A maximum of 10 contestants will be allowed per venue, and will be filled on a first-cum-first-served basis.

7. Participants must register with their venue of choice at their earliest opportunity and arrive no later than 30 minutes before the competition is due to start. If the participants do not arrive in time they may be forfeit their place.

8. By registering your details to enter this competition, you are also giving your consent for footage of your performance to be used by both DEM TV and ITV Local London.

9. Employees of DEM TV, Absolute Events (London) Ltd, Prickly Pear and any other company associated to this competition and their immediate families (partners, children, parents, brothers and sisters) are not eligible to enter Tarkan Idol.

10. Only one entry per person is permitted.

11. DEM TV and its partners will not be liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any person taking part or not being able to take part in a competition.

12. Entries not made in accordance with the rules of entry are invalid.

13. Entrants winning through to the final round will be decided by the audience at each venue, who will vote for their favourite performer by a show of hands. The performer with the most votes shall be that venue’s winner. In the event of a split vote, the winner shall be decided by the toss of a coin.

14. The winner of the final round of Tarkan Idol will be the finalist who receives the most votes via DEM TV’s website. This will be determined by a count of all votes cast from the start of voting until 23.59 (UK time) on Thursday 10 April.

15. Winners will be formally notified on Friday 11 April 2008. Full details of the prize will be on the promoter’s website. Where we notify a winner by email, we will ask for confirmation of receipt by reply email.

16. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

17. Contestants who are rude, abusive or deemed otherwise unsuitable by DEM TV will be excluded from the competition.

18. Use of false name, age or address (e.g. name by which the entrant is not usually known) will disqualify them from receiving any prize. DEM TV reserves the right to oblige any potential winner to provide documentary proof of their age, identity and address as directed by DEM TV before such person may claim their prize. In certain circumstances, DEM TV shall, at its discretion, require any person to present themselves in person supported by such documentation for identification purposes (we will reimburse all reasonable travel costs incurred) prior to releasing the prize.

19. Winners may be obliged to take part in publicity associated with the presentation of the prize.

20. Competition winners agree to keep confidential any knowledge about DEM TV, Absolute Events (London) Ltd, Prickly Pear and its business and personnel received by them as a result of the competition.

21. We will keep your personal details for a reasonable time so that we can send you any prize that you have won, to verify that these rules have been complied with, and for accounting purposes. We may also add your details to our mailing list. If you do not wish to be added to this, please write to DEM TV.

Voting Terms and Conditions

i.                     Voting will start online www.demtv.biz on Sunday 6 April 2008 immediately after DEM TV’s Londra Magazin has been broadcast.

ii.                   Voting will close 23.59 (UK time) on Thursday 10 April

iii.                  Any votes cast outside of these times will not be counted.

iv.                  Even though footage of Tarkan Idols will be shown on multiple sites, DEM TV’s website is the only website where votes can be cast and is the only permitted method of voting (i.e. letters, emails, phone calls etc to the station are not valid)

v.                    Only one online vote per IP address is permitted. Automated entries will be invalidated, including multiple entries from the same IP

vi.                  DEM TV has the right to discount votes if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent bulk votes have been cast.

vii.                 DEM TV may suspend, withdraw, cancel or re-set the Vote for any reason at its sole discretion and at any time.

viii.               Incomplete or illegible entries or those not made in accordance with the rules of entry are invalid.

ix.                 DEM TV, its group companies and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem in any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DEM TV hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liability (whether express or implied) regarding the Vote.

x.                   DEM TV reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on this website and such posting shall be adequate notice to all participants.

xi.                 These rules are governed by English law and are correct at time of going to print.
