It began in 1975. The shocking presence of the Yorkshire Ripper had an impact on everyone over a five year period. The police were frustrated by the enormous task of gathering reliable information, the public were not sure if who would be next and all women across Yorkshire were accutely aware of the terrible stories circulating about the nature of the attacks. And then there was the tape, supposedly of the Ripper's voice.
