Jed goes walkabout
Presenter Jed Pitman sets off again for this five part series. Join Jed on his adventures along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Now you may remember last year that our fellow presenter Jed Pitman decided to get away from the hussle and bussle of city life by trekking along the coastal path of West Somerset. Well this year he's decided to take to the slow lane once more for another week-long series… but this time on water.
The Kennet and Avon Canal stretches from Bristol to Reading and is nearly 90 miles long. It was built around 2 hundred years ago and was the motorway of its day before falling into disrepair. Over the last 40 years it's been lovingly restored by an army of volunteers.
All this week our very own narrowboat novice will be exploring the 20 mile stretch from Bath to Devizes, which - fingers crossed - he's aiming to reach on Friday...
