
Schools across the South are failing pupils according to the Government. At least 30 per cent of pupils in all secondary schools should gain a minimum of 5 GCSE A to C grades.
But dozens of schools in our region fail to do that. Now they are going to be made to make to grade. Thanks the government has pledged £200 million to help schools improve their results. Education ministers have warned that any school that fails to improve, or reach the required the standard, by 2011 could be closed down.
