ITV Meridian South The Fix: Helping people with mental health illnesses get fair employment
Back in August we featured a project that’s tackling the prejudice employers have about people with mental health problems. Now our ITV Fixers’ Stick it to Stigma campaign is moving to the big screen.
On 31 October Harbour Lights Cinema in Southampton is featuring a special presentation of a film by Kri Sharp, 23. Kathleen Duggan, 22. Ollie Burt, 17 and Terry Lee Chapman, 23.
With our help they’ve developed a film, leaflet and presentation for employers in Southampton. And they are working closely with City Limits to reach as many businesses and training providers as possible.
Since their broadcast début those involved have hooked up with Unity 101, community radio to discuss what they have gained from the experience and how they’d like to tackle the issue further.
And one way is with the special cinema screening of their film in 31 October, from 10am- 1pm. As well as the chance to watch the Stick it to Stigma film there will be a presentation for young people and service providers from the local area. |
