Norwich City have confirmed they will not receive a cash bonus after former striker Dean Ashton's England debut on Sunday.
Ashton - who moved to Premier League side West Ham for £7.25million in 2006 - played the opening 45 minutes of the 3-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago before being replaced by Peter Crouch.
As part of the terms of his transfer the Canaries are entitled to a £125,000 payment if Ashton plays for England while he is still with the Hammers - but the agreement applies only to a competitive fixture, not to friendlies.
