Your tributes have come flooding in for the broadcaster and music mogul who sadly died at the weekend.
You were asking what kind of memorial might be appropriate to remember "Mr Manchester" - as he was always fired with enthusiasm for everything Manchester perhaps it would be good to have an eternal flame in a setting which best reflects his passion.

I would just like to say how shocked and sad I was to hear of the death of Tony Wilson. I am the same age that Tony was, and my memories of him were in the early 70's when he used to read the local news for Granada. I looked forward to seeing him most nights back then, because he was very laid back, and if I may say, he, himself, looked like a pop star. I understand that this last remark might be inapprpriate at this time, but that is how I remember him.
Then in the '80s my son used to be a huge fan of the Happy Mondays and New Order. So Tony appealed and was part of different generations throughout his life. He is sadly missed by all.

How sad the news of Tony's death is. Lucy must well remember his youthful early days when he spread the music of Manchester to the world. He was instrumental in bringing so much new talent to the fore. He is sorely missed but leaves happy memories. A great man.

As someone who was around in the halcyon Granada Reports days of the mid-70's - I'm now long since retired - I have fond memories of the Chris Pye/Jeremy Fox era when Tony, Gordon Burns and a host of other young turks were taking the North-West by journalistic storm.
What set Tony apart was his un-shakeable belief in what he was doing at any one time. He was a one-off. Granada was always forward looking, but, the combination of Granada & Tony Wilson was unbeatable.
He'll be sorely missed.
David Weir
My memories of Mr Wilson is Manchester and the Hacienda respect and peace gone but not forgotten

My best memory of Tony Wilson was the day following the general election when Margaret Thatcher got in, the interview was live from a cafe on A
Tony was a larger than life character and a had a warm heart and strong spirit in his fight against cancer. I went to China with Tony and nine others in 2001 and spent 10 days in one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Tony was funny, entertaining and seemed to know facinating facts about every subject that came up during our tour. We were there to support a new Anglo/Chinese charity and to strengthen links with the Eastern regions of China. We also attended an international pop music festival there and ended up singing karaoke with the Chinese on many occasions. Tony loved the music - dont know whether our singing on the great wall impressed him though.
Tony was warm and really liked scousers and non-Manchester people in contrast to his sometimes promoted allegiance to Manchester. Since the China trip he always attended our get togethers and charity events etc in Liverpool and had many friends locally and many stories to tell. Whilst in China I discovered another side to Tony, who attended church there on Sunday and was always willing to help people.
He loved and lived life - some would say excessively to the full with his admitted 'vices', but was a pleasure to be with. I phoned him not so long ago after his treatment at Christies Hospital, Manchester and discovered he was talking to me driving in the desert outside Los Angeles. He wouldn't rest or take things easy and just carried on with life. It is a great shock and he was a relatively young man. He will be missed by many and cannot be replicated in any way. He was a fighter to the end and carried on working on with his media work.
His family, the media, his mates will solely miss him. He was much loved. Our thoughts and love go out to him and those suffering his loss.

Tony was always a joy to work with. The studio always buzzed when he was there. His knowledge and authority on a wide-ange of subjects fom music to politics was astounding.
He loved television with a passion, and understood it inside-out, as few others do.
Above-all he loved Manchester and it's people.
We owe him a lot, and he will be greatly missed.

As everyone else, I was saddened to hear of Tony's passing............You didn't have to like the guy to appreciate what a talented and clever man he was, although most of us did.

I remember meeting Anthony many years ago after he had played in goal in a charity football match for a showbiz football 11 against a Preston North end.
There were many stars in the team that day, Coronation Street, Brookside etc., but Anthony struck me as just an ordinary bloke who chatted with the crowd until they had had enough of him!
Gordon Jackson
I remember Tony Wilson trying to intimidate Lucy on television. But she had none of it and told him. I will never forget that
I absolutely loved him.
He was my favourite presenter of all times. He was so clever and handsome.
I remember seeing him in Boots Chemist with my son who was young at the time and I was so exited at seeing him there. I got a big smile off him, but was to shy to speak.
Mrs Josie Levy
So sorry to hear of tony's death. What a great presenter and man

I remember Tony Wilson+Bob Greaves reading the news in the early seventees on granada reports, its such a shame.
Tony was a north west hero. he shared many a joke with us scousers and he is greatly missed
Without Tony, I doubt I would have become the person I am today.
As a dithering teenager trying to find myself, I discovered Factory
Records and haven't looked back since. The music, Factory's ethos and
their presentation arguably rule my outlook on life itself.
Yet above all, he made me feel proud of where I come from. I have
never felt prouder to say that I am from the North-west. Tony's
journalistic eye, his charm, his confidence and his knowledge will
always act as an influence. If I can achieve just a fraction of what
he's done, I will be happy. He isn't dead - he will forever live on.
David Meller, Stockport
Tony Wilson did our first ever darts presentation for the ladies partington and district league 25 years ago and didnt charge us a penny.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Tony at my daughters wedding in 2004 and he was a lovely warm person. We had a photograph taken and yes he was wearing that trademark "black mac" well it was October.
I always used to love watching Tony and Lucy on their show.
I always remember when my oldest daughter was a student in Manchester and came home wearing a T shirt with "FAC OFF" on it and trying to convince me it was to do with factory records!
He will be very sorely missed.
