Suggs' Survivors

This week's survivors include a Jermyn Street shop which once boasted customers including Oscar Wilde and Beau Brummel, a Georgian Brewary in the Fens, and a death defying fairground troupe keeping alive the tradition of the Wall of Death motorcycle show.

Episode 2:                                                                                              

In this week's programme, Suggs visits the last surviving venue from the 1948 London Olympics, gets up a head of steam on the North Norfolk railway and calls in for a cuppa at London's oldest tea company - Twinings on The Strand.

Episode 3:    

This week Suggs' tells a tale of two palaces, discovering what became of London's legendary Crystal Palace and paying a visit to a historic Edwardian cinema in Harwich

Episode 4            

Suggs' visits Northampton to explore the last building created by legendary designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh and calls in for a cuppa at a 1950s biker's cafe on London's North Circular.

 

Tuesday 31st January 2008

Episode 5                

In this programme Suggs' takes a ride on Europe's oldest roller-coaster in Great Yarmouth, has a lesson in tightrope walking in an Edwardian circus, and tries his hand at bell-making in an East End foundry.

 

Tuesday 5th February 2008

Episode 6                    

In the last of this series Suggs' gets measured for a suit at a high-street tailor's shop in South London and gets his hands on the controls of a genuine James Bond flying machine hidden in the heart of Norfolk.
