Shoreditch Festival: Sunday 1pm-7pm
The Shoreditch Festival begins this weekend - one of the first events is the Tour De Hackney on Sunday. It’s based in Shoreditch Park and takes in the green spaces and cycle routes in the area. Register in advance or turn up on the day – it’s free to take part.

Trafalgar Square Festival: Saturday 1pm and 9pm
The theme is Olympic Aspirations this week. Zoo Nation – the dance company behind “Into the Hoods” create a show looking back at the last games here in the capital in 1948 - while Aqua is a performance that captures the drama of the water events.

Battersea Power Station: Saturday 10am-5pm
As part of the public consultation on its future, every Saturday during August you can get a free walking tour around parts of the site. If you want to get up close to a London landmark. Note that for safety reasons no children under ten are allowed in.
