What is Kids Week?
· Kids Week is the one time each year that the entire West End comes together to celebrate theatre, to deck their foyers with balloons and show kids how much fun theatre can be.
When is Kids Week?
· Kids Week 2008 will take place this year from 15-29 August, the last two weeks before kids go back to school so a great way to end the summer holidays.
What do kids get out of Kids Week?
· During Kids Week, a child (aged 5-16 years) goes free to the theatre when accompanied by a full paying adult, and up to two additional children can go at half price. There are 29 shows participating in Kids Week 2008.
· There are also deals on meals too where kids can eat free in restaurants such as the Rainforest Café, Bella Italia, Maxwells and Sticky Fingers.
· Plus free kids accommodation and travel courtesy of Superbreak (subject to terms and conditions).
· Over 40 free show-related activities will take place during the Kids Week fortnight, from sing-alongs, drama classes, dance workshops and question & answers sessions - there is something for everyone.
How long has Kids Week been going on?
· Kids Week is now in its 11th year.
Who organises Kids Week?
· Kids Week is a Society of London Theatre initiative. The Society of London Theatre is the trade association which represents the producers, theatre owners and managers of the 52 major commercial and grant-aided theatres in central London.
Why does the Society of London Theatre put on Kids Week?
· The aim of Kids Week is to encourage children between the ages of 5 and 16 to experience the thrill and magic of live theatre. Kids Week gets kids to see shows that parents would not normally be able to afford.
