Why ITV Local is good news for your community
For 40 years Yorkshire Television has been at the heart of Yorkshire life. For those of us old enough, we might remember documentaries like the one about the inspirational Hanna Hauxwell who lived an extraordinarily hard life in the Yorkshire Dales. You might also recall Richard Whitely in the less dignified episode involving a ferret and a finger! Or Emmerdale with its famous Woolpack which is, of course, a very famous Yorkshire export. The archives at Yorkshire Television are full of many more stories like these which are part of your life.
In the next 40 years, you are going to play a bigger part in forming the archive of the future.
ITV Local is the next big step in our journey together and we need your help to make it as rich as the last 40 years have been.
Our Short Films channel will feature the best films from up and coming regional film makers and will be a place to get them noticed. Our What’s On section will feature video of some of the region’s most exciting events like the Leeds Carnival, Sheffield Comedy Festival, The Great Yorkshire Show and many more local events. And our Viewer Videos upload section will be a place to display your undoubted creativity with the video camera.
So, keep an eye on ITV Local Yorkshire and better still, be part of the action.
